Diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) account for a significant percentage of the disease burden around the world. Significant unmet medical needs in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive disorders, stroke, MS and major psychiatric disorders indicate that the demand for innovative CNS therapeutics will remain high.

Ricerca’s complete list of validated central nervous system models – using a broad panel of outcome measures – is only one aspect of our CNS therapeutic expertise. With decades of experience in CNS research in drug discovery and development, our staff is highly skilled at providing primary- through tertiary-level in vivo models that fulfill the needs of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies at all stages of discovery.

Among our team are directors with extensive industry experience who have authored numerous peer-reviewed published articles in the CNS and pain fields. All have solid track records in preclinical pharmacology and drug development, and many have served as research and program managers at major pharmaceutical companies.
